Media Relations, Key Messaging, Thought Leadership

Leveraging earned media to increase visibility and awareness about increased rates of eating disorders and how in-person and online treatment provider
Alsana meets this demand.

Challenge

The Challenge

Eating disorders are the second most deadly mental health condition. The need for treatment is growing, with disordered eating showing up in adolescents just as it is in adults. Early intervention is important now more than ever before. Westbound developed an earned media thought leadership program to support Alsana’s growth of its in-person and online treatment programs. Our team regularly placed stories in consumer and trade online and broadcast media that lifted the veil on eating disorders and stressed the importance seeking treatment early to support a long-lasting recovery.

The Solution

We secured more than 80 national and regional placements featuring Alsana’s subject matter experts and exceeded our annual Share of Voice goal in 2023 and 2024, joining the industry conversation alongside competitors.

By the Numbers

• 88 national and regional online and broadcast placements secured
• 18 stories secured during National Eating Disorder Awareness Week
• 4 million+ impressions
