THE CHALLENGE
As express lanes (and costs associated with express lanes) are high-profile projects, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) selected Westbound to develop and implement an intensive public engagement throughout the San Bernardino Valley and High Desert communities. Westbound brought in-depth knowledge of the Inland Empire and relationships with key stakeholders throughout the region.
THE RESULTS
Westbound developed all the content for both projects and facilitated Community Advisory Group meetings as well as public meetings as part of the environmental process. Additionally, more than 100 in-person presentations took place that resulted in the public having a clearer understanding for the project need and choices they would have. Ultimately, the project gained support from the community at-large and the SBCTA Board of Directors.
